One important thing I've learned from many great marriage mentors is to be intentional about your relationship with your partner. Most relationships nowadays lack intention. Everyone is so focused on getting but never willing to give. But the true key to getting what you want is giving what you want.
In part two of this Valentine's Day Special, I will discuss three things a man should be intentional about in his relationship.
———
1. Be intentional about your purpose.
In relationships, some men wish they had a different partner, and they assume the grass is greener on the other side; however, they’re not cultivating and watering what God has given them. And the truth is, your relationship directly reflects your leadership.
1 Corinthians 11:3 NLT states, ”But there is one thing I want you to know: The head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.“
If the head of every woman is man, that means it is the man that leads. And if the head of every man is Christ, that means Christ should lead a man. So, if something is wrong with your relationship, there is something wrong with your leadership. And if something is wrong with your leadership, there is something wrong with your submission to Christ.
As a man, it is a necessity to seek after Christ because he is the head — the head of your purpose, the head of your vision, and the head of your decisions. Just as Solomon sought God’s wisdom for his leadership over the nation of Israel is the same way every man should seek God’s wisdom in his leadership over his household. To have the perfect relationship, you have to seek after God to attain it. And as you seek after him, you and your partner will both become like Christ in his likeness and his image.

2.Be intentional about upgrading your woman.
Most men desire the perfect woman; however, they lack the vision to attain her. But a man with purpose takes the necessary steps to add value to his woman because he knows who he wants by his side. When he does invest in his lady, she starts to think differently, act differently, and look different because she becomes a reflection of him.
As a man, you can upgrade your woman from 1 to 10. As beautiful as she was when you met her, she should look even better after you've got her. It shows you have the power to turn things into gold. When your woman looks good, it makes you look good. So be intentional about upgrading your woman.

3. Spend quality time with your spouse.
Most men are so busy with work they forget to spend quality time with their wives. I understand the tasks of daily life can be pressuring and time-consuming, but that’s why it's necessary to have a balance of work and play.
Plan to enjoy leisure activities like a couples massage, shopping, fine dining, travel, and more. Doing so can freshen the chemistry with your spouse and deepen your bond. Having fun with your spouse also maintains the youthfulness of your relationship.
I hope you guys enjoyed this Valentine’s Day Special. Feel free to leave a comment. Thank you for your love and support.
